Over the past decade, we've pushed entrepreneurs to shape their ideas. We've worked with seasoned founders to start their next chapter. We've guided startups to find their own voice. We've collaborated VCs to raise their chances. We've helped the Fortune 50 to act small. And we've partnered with governments to reimagine the future.
This past ten years has taught us a lot. Some of these experiences were extraordinary and some of them were necessary. Some of them were our own and some of them were our clients. But all of them lead us to develop the right processes, so you can achieve your goals in less time, by avoiding the common pitfalls with less risk and costs.
It's not the overnight success you were hoping for but rest assure, it will get the job done. Get in touch and we'll tell you all about it.
In a city full of good designers, the 3drops office is home to some truly remarkable talent. It also happens to be home to some really nice guys who also make the process itself simple.
3drops has pioneered a process that makes them to move faster than any other team I’ve had the pleasure to work with. They design, prototype and validate ideas in a matter of days, enabling us to make big decisions with ease.

Early 2017, we helped Healr design their apps from the group up. Healr connects patients with doctors via chat, video calls and scheduled home visits in order to streamline doctor appointments. We designed an iOS app, an Android app and a web app to make it as effortless as possible to connect with doctors on the go or from home.

Patient
The patient side of the app allows users to find a specialist on the experienced symptom and schedule an appointment with a single tap. The patient can talk directly to the specialist via chat, video call or a requested home visit and thus get an similar treatment as if visiting a physical hospital.
Doctor
The doctor side of the app is designed to manage scheduling and patient communication with no effort. It was designed based on the most recognised apps by doctor’s to minimise eventual onboarding time and user friction.
Consistent design language
When working with early stage startups, its important to create a design system to minimise development time and onboarding time for future designers. We implemented a simple design system that can be implemented across platforms (iOS, Android and web), making the app feel consistent and easy to navigate from anywhere.
Companion application for doctors
In addition to the mobile apps, we designed a web app for doctors to have easy access to medical records and better manage their appointments without leaving their day to day workflow.
Modernizing the image of health care
Healr makes health care accessible to anyone from anywhere. Their mission is to give people a better overall experience using the latest technology. We helped them with their entire branding; from naming to logo design to marketing page. By designing a logo around the globally recognisable cross symbol, we utilise something people already know and trust while making the symbol unique to Healr.

Product redesign
Before & After
We simplified and restructured the app to ensure a great user experience and visual hierarchy, without stepping on exisitng users by reinventing the wheel where it wasn’t needed.
Navigating system
Given the existing product’s complexity, we prioritized and focused our time on different aspects of the app, beginning with the most glaring issue, navigation. We solved this by building a flexible and transparent side-bar navigation system that works across devices and screen sizes.
Dashboard & reports
The next step of the redesign was focused around creating an engaging and insightful team dashboard, and beautiful, comprehendable and functional time tracking reports.
Simplifying the UI library
As a digital product age and new features are being introduced, its easy to stray away from a consistent design system. UI elements and interactions starts to look and feel different in every corner of the app, making it difficult for users to find the pages and features they look for. We started by getting a clear understanding of the entire app before implementing a new navigation system that works consistently throughout the app, across platforms. We also implemented a new visual language design system streamlines the process of adding in new features and pages, as all UI components look and feel consistent.
Of course, fully responsive
Designing the responsive experience for an app in the size of Toggl is a great challenge. One of the main reasons Toggl had low user engagement was the poor accessibility from mobile devices. We fixed that by designing a user-friendly, mobile first, responsive experience. By sticking to the best common practices and avoiding to create custom behaviour between devices, the experience on mobile and desktop feels the same and work in balance.
chat order share
About
A powerful chat
In late 2016, French startup Baatch asked us to design the first version of their group ordering app. Centered around a chat interface, users can create groups and by drag and drop share food orders, hotel bookings, flight tickets and much more. Group members can partake or decline an order, vote for the best alternatives and even split the bill.

iOS
Designed to keep chat in center of the experience, it proved a great challenge to reinvent the keyboard space while clinging to iOS guidelines in order to minimise onboarding and make the app feel intuitive from the get-go.
Android
Translating the iOS designs to Android while maintaining the same functionality, look and feel required some tinkering. We create a card system that is compatible with the design guidelines on both platforms.
Choose your service
From ordering food for the entire office to making a table reservation with a friend, Baatch does it all from within the chat. We designed the first version of Baatch with eight different ordering experiences. Each experiencing use the same base components, making Baatch an ever expandable app. Simply tap on an icon to enter the desired ordering flow, tap again in the type field to head back to the chat experience.
Branding & Iconography
We wanted the branding to derive from the app’s interface. By designing a low-key brand, we manage to always keep the chat experience in center. The logo is a simple “B” shape, outlined by two chat bubbles. We created a washed-out color scheme to make the branding blend with the app’s overall minimal and colourless interface.

Navigation system
The main issue with the Unomaly web app was its navigation system, especially how users search and find systems, groups and situations. We managed to turn Unomaly into a modern web app capable of showing all user relevant information in just one page. In doing so, we reduced the number of pages in the app from a staggering +20 pages to one single page. Other than it taking much less time to make an action in the app, users won’t get lost within the many pages that make up the app.
Quick, iterative prototyping
Our goal was to make Unomaly a single page app. We tried to solve this with three different approaches. The first approach revolved around implementing a sidebar that could hold all groups and systems, enabling users to navigate the app by just a mouse or track pad. The second approach revolved around a heavily type based navigation system, using filters and smart drop downs to guide the user. The winning solution ended up becoming a hybrid of the two explorations, with a persistent sidebar and powerful search bar.
Management
Our next challenge was to design an simple Admin reporting screen. Our solution enabled Admins to manage their systems without leaving the app. By toggling into the Admin view you have the power to group, regroup, sort, filter and favourite systems to better navigate your software infrastructure. In addition, we made it possible to personalise your dashboard by simply dragging and dropping.
Creating a new design language
We introduced a new design language to make Unomaly even easier to navigate and scan for information. We also established an improved design system which unified the app’s UI component library, making it easier for Unomaly to continue to build upon the platform without having to worry about getting off track.

Finding courses
We designed a beautiful card navigation system that gives you enough information to select from a wide range of courses. The cards can easily be expanded upon, which was one of the challenges we had to overcome as a new course is launched each month. To make the browsing experience as smooth as possible, we tried dozens of different transitions to fine-tune an experience that felt intuitive and fast.
Quick meditation
10 % is centered around informative meditation courses that teaches you the how and the why we meditate. In contrast, the Just Meditate tab lets you browse meditation sessions based on mood or situation. Select the type of meditation that suits your need, set the meditation timer and tune out.
Fast iterations
Creating the brand and visual language for 10 % proved to be a great challenge. The founders wanted an edgy, bullshit-free brand that unlike other meditation apps isn’t centered around pictures of sunsets and women in yoga positions. We did quick design iterations and [prototyped the best runners] to find a visual style and brand attitude that suited the founders’ vision, while not putting off the current user base.

Refreshing a community
Designer News is one of the biggest online community for designers. It was created in 2012 but wasn’t able to sustain itself financially and was losing users. We came in as a strategy and design partner and helped turn the trend around. Today, Designer News is a financially independent and flourishing community.

Product redesign
Before & After
We identified the features that made Designer News popular and iterated from there to improve core functionality and the user experience. By involving the community early in the design process, we were able to collect valuable insights and improve the community experience based on user feedback.
Quick iterations
Designing for a design community is hard. We solved this by creating a lot of different concepts exploring many different directions, and narrowed down to the right one by collaborating with all stakeholders from the very beginning.
Helping DN turn profitable
By focusing on making Designer News profitable and bringing more value to the community, we worked together with the owner to locate two areas of improvement. We launched Market, a designer resource shop with digital assets for sale created by the community, for the community. We also launched a new Job Board to help connect the right talent with the right companies.
Of course, fully responsive
One of the main reasons Designer News had low user engagement was the poor accessibility from mobile devices. We fixed that by designing a user-friendly, mobile first, responsive experience.

Client app
We designed an intuitive interface for businesses to easily request a delivery with three simple steps. By iterating and prototyping quickly and working in close collaboration with all stakeholders, we were able to get to a winning design faster without spending months in research.
Driver app
We created a simple design that required the least amount of actions for a driver to accept a job, navigate from point A to B and get in touch with recipients in just one tap.
Companion web app for businesses
We designed and built a lightweight single-page application for businesses to request, track and manage deliveries. By understanding customer needs and current workflows in the industry, we created a familiar experience that made using the service incredibly simple.
Delivery status on both web & mobile
Each customer order generates a unique link that can be shared with co-workers and clients. This way, all stakeholders can track delivery status in real-time. No login or signup required.
Iconography
The iconography builds on the ethos of a delivery path first seen in the Stuart logo. The icons aren’t fully connected to emphasize the path from A to B and are color-matched to communicate the status of a shipment. In total we designed over 30 beautiful customs icons for Stuart.
Branding
Stuart’s branding takes inspiration from what it means to be a delivery company. The logo represents both a delivery box, the outline corresponds to S as in Stuart, and also resembles the path taken when delivering a shipment.

Effortless shopping experience
We merged e-commerce and product recommendations with Hiro’s smart chat interface to create a new type of shopping experience. By guiding customers to the right product at the right time and building checkout into the chat, we simplified online purchases and improved conversion rates.
Friendly reminders
A simple double tap lets users bookmark any part of the conversation with Hiro. Bookmarked messages can be brought back to the user’s attention whenever they need them, based on time or place.
Navigate by swiping
Swipe left for reminders, swipe right for settings. No distracting drop-downs or buttons, we kept it simple to let the conversation and shopping experience with Hiro take center stage.
Branding
We wanted to give Hiro a human touch, so we designed the logo to resemble a human face. We gave the logo an ability to express emotions by adding simple motion design. Depending on the topic of the conversation, the logo interacts with you and creates a special bond between the user and Hiro.

A powerful integrated search plattform
We implemented a powerful search tool to make research simplified for students. By integrating premium libraries that are not accessible via Google, students could easily research and collaborate on topics without leaving the platform.
Card-based design system
We designed edtwist with a card-based design system. The simplicity of cards forced us to build a cohesive structure around all sorts of content, and allowed easy sharing of any card with just one click.
Rich editor on both web & mobile
Building a rich content editor that works on mobile and desktop is a tricky task, yet this is where users will spend most of their time. We approached this challenge by designing an experience that was both familiar, easy and accessible from any device.
Boards & Profile
We employed a consistent design system throughout the application with the user perspective always in mind. By incorporating the same design language across the platform, we created an application that users could familiarize with quickly while shortening development time.
A fully responsive experience
We designed a user experience that was fully responsive at its core, with all content and functionality accessible from any device.

iOS
Designed to be simple and minimalistic, the app adheres to (and deviates from where necessary) the guidelines and standards of the iOS platform.
Android
Bridging the design language established on iOS over to Android posed an exciting challenge. The app maintains the look and feel while conforming to conventions.
Booking your stay
The Selina app is designed to let you research and explore hostels and their opportunities, and at the same time book and manage your stay, including ordering amenities, communication and checkin/checkout.
Iconography
A long list of available amenities accompany every hostel in the app, and they all needed a simple yet visually stimulating icon to go with them.
